Google to join forces with NSA

Google is set to join forces with America’s National Security Agency following a cyber attack on the search giant which originated in China.

Google has threatened to end its business dealings in China following a dispute over the censorship of search results on Google.cn and recent cyber attacks on the Google email accounts of human rights campaigners.

A report by the Washington Post said neither organisation would comment on a possible collaboration, but a source speaking to the paper on condition of anonymity said “the alliance is being designed to allow the two organizations to share critical information without violating Google’s policies or laws that protect the privacy of Americans’ online communications.”

The source said the partnership would not involve the NSA looking at users’ searches or emails.
