Online video reveals Google's plan for tablet computer

A video posted on the internet appears to show Google’s design for a tablet computer to rival Apple’s new iPad.

According to a report by The Telegraph, a Google engineer posted the video on the Chromium website, which is dedicated to the open source project behind Google’s Chrome browser and operating system.

The video, posted by one of the designers behind Chrome OS, shows a touchscreen tablet computer running Google’s software.

The Telegraph also reports that Google is in discussions with electronics manufacturer HTC – makers of Google’s Nexus One smartphone – with regard to constructing a tablet computer with a touchscreen.

The device will be seen as a direct threat to Apple’s new iPad computer which was launched in San Francisco last week.
