Manga and Haiku Celebrate Search Engine Optimisation
So, you thought that Digital Marketing is all about no-nonsense stuff, budgets, ROI, hard numbers, etc. Now think again because the industry has just manifested its lyrical side. TopRank’s blog has celebrated the shortness of today’s communications with five haikus about Internet Marketing. Not only that, they also used a famous woodcut The Great Wave by one of the greatest Japanese artists, Katsushika Hokusai. Unfortunately, as of now they didn’t give him credit on the website. Understandably, Hokusai died in 1849, so the copyright to his work is likely to have expired… In the spirit of doing the justice, though, here is the credit to the artist, and also some links to his work in the public domain: over 130 pages of Hokusai images (very addictive and in a variety of styles, so browse them when you’re on your lunch) and a complete 12th volume of Hokusai Manga in digital format, printed in 1834 and owned by the Royal Library in Stockholm (you will need Adobe Shockwave to view the Manga collection).
